1. Introduction

This is the Local Livelihoods Frequently Asked Question list (FAQ). It attempts to answer some of the most frequently asked questions relating to the services and products we provide.

2. What's New?

This web-site! We have completely redesigned it with a new look and feel and better structured content. We have also added an online shop, where you can buy Software licenses and Training Toolkits.

Version 1.4.5 of Project Facilitator is scheduled for release during the last quarter of 2005. It incorporates several new features, including interactive Gantt chart based Event Monitoring, Audit trails and online license purchase and renewal.

Project Facilitator Version 2 , which has a fully distributed architecture allowing remote access to servers from any location with an internet connection, is due for release in the first quarter of 2006.

3. Project Facilitator

Q1: What is PCM?

Project Cycle Management is a full life-cycle project management methodology, which has been developed through international collaboration over the last twenty years. It allows design, proposal development, implementation control and monitoring of projects.

Q2: What is the Project Facilitator software package for?

Project Facilitator implements PCM in software. It simplifies the process of PCM based project management and helps avoid the difficulties associated with the paper based approach, such as cross-referencing and information duplication.

Q3: How can I get a copy of Project Facilitator?

This site provides a means of downloading the package. Please click HERE to visit the appropriate page. The package is also available on CD by request.

Q4: How do I license Project Facilitator?

The package contains facilities which allow online licensing. Within the package, visit the Admin->License Project Facilitator option.

Q5: Can I get an evaluation version of Project Facilitator?

The current version of Project Facilitator provides an evaluation period of fourteen days and allows a full access to all features of the package during that period.

Q6: Is Project Facilitator a multi-user package?

Yes. It can be used in both multi-user or desktop mode. Please refer to the help system built in to the package for directions on setting up a network server.

Q7: Is there an upgrade path for the Project Facilitator package?

A fully distributed version of the package has been in development for the last eighteen months. Databases stored in v1 format will be upgradeable to the v2 format. V2 has been designed to allow multiple project hierarchies and project groups, derived best practice, project type templating and multiple distributed site networks, amongst many new features.

Q8: Where can I learn more about the detailed use of Project Facilitator?
