Local Livelihoods has over 30 years’ experience in designing and delivering training to international development staff in the field and in head offices around the world.  Training is delivered to accredited quality levels, such as Level 4 University of Hull, and Level 3 OCN in the UK.  Using our expertise in training we are now applying this in a new way of delivery using live online web based software.  The connection is easy  and these training courses bring the same quality and content to a wider audience in an efficient, inexpensive and carbon neutral way. Designing a Participatory Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation System

This 10 hour (5 two hour weekly sessions) live online course will enable you to prepare the ground for undertaking monitoring and evaluation and analysing the results.

This course is based on international development standards and will help participants understand and apply the key components for designing a participatory and effective Results Based Monitoring & Evaluation System.  With the aim of improving management performance, evidenced based decision making and accountability. The course includes formative and summative approaches; participation as a capacity building tool; incorporating lessons; designing a Logical Framework and indicators; using templates to collect and analyse data and informing on the results.

The course is supported by a toolkit, a series of data recording templates and other materials and uses exercises to enable participants to apply M&E to their work. Participants will receive a Certificate for completing the course.

Results Based Project Design Course

This 10 hour (5 two hour weekly sessions) live online course will enable you to prepare the ground for undertaking monitoring and evaluation and analysing the results.  Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation will help participants understand the key components for effective M&E in order to improve management performance and evidenced based decision making.  The course explores how to establish the necessary framework for good M&E based on clarifying stakeholders, bringing the Logical Framework up to date, and generating a set of criteria against which to measure progress.

Social Enterprise Planning Course

This 12 hour (6 two hour weekly sessions) live online course will enable you to understand the rationale and fundamental purpose of Social Enterprise.  The Social Enterprise Planning course is designed as a basic and practical guide to carrying out a feasibility study for an enterprise idea to test its commercial, social and environmental viability, and then writing the enterprise plan in order to be able to present the plan to potential supporters. It can also be used as a guide to the basic methods for managing social enterprises. The content of the course includes product and service development, marketing, finance, organisation, management and democracy, developing legal charters, Social Accounting and Audit and writing the enterprise plan.

Social Accounting and Audit Course

This 8 hour (4 two hour weekly sessions) live online course will enable you to understand the rationale and fundamental purpose of Social Accounting and Audit.  The course will explore the origins and chart the progress of social auditing UK and worldwide and go through the four stages of the audit cycle. In a practical way participants will be able to apply the learning in their organisation and use the material as templates where they can adapt them to their own situation.  The course will introduce participants to social enterprise as a business that is socially, environmentally and commercially viable.

Time and Location of Course

The courses are timed at 09.00 to 11.00 GMT; according to your time zone this will be from 09.00 to 20.00. This covers: Europe, Africa, Middle East, CIS, Central and South East Asia.

Online Training

Our online training uses a multi media web based system that includes audio, visual, Power Point and white board facilities.  All you need is a PC with broadband connection and speakers.  The technology operates like a website; you don’t need to download any software and all training material  and supporting documents are presented in Windows format for participants to copy, save and integrate with existing files.

All training is conducted in short, approximately 2 hour sessions, where the trainer and participants can view PowerPoint presentations, exchange views, ask and answer questions and conduct online white board based exercises.
